Writer/director Yaelle Kayam sets her feature debut in a unique location: a family’s home in the middle of the cemetery on Jerusalem’s Mount of Olives. Devout wife Tzvia (Shani Klein) spends her days cooking and cleaning while her teacher husband and young children are at school.

Lonely and puzzled by her husband’s lack of affection, she takes walks at night, developing an unexpected connection with the prostitutes and drug dealers who use the cemetery to conduct business. Ultimately Tzvia resolves her inner turmoil with consequences that are quite shocking.

Directed by Yaelle Kayam, Denmark/Israel, 2015, 83 min. Hebrew with English subtitles. Houston Premiere. Drama.
