2016 Houston Early Music Festival: Bach in the Court of Weimar

As part of the 2016 Houston Early Music Festival, Bach Society Houston will present Bach in the Court of Weimar. Young Bach hits the ground running at age 23 and wows the court with his prodigious talent.

Two cantatas, Wachet! betet! betet! wachet! (BWV 70) and Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen (BWV 12) and a violin concerto (BWV 1041) from this period will show you why.  There will be a reception following the concert.

Performance will take place at Edythe Bates Old Recital Hall at Rice University.
