This lyrical drama centers on the lives of two poets whose literary ambitions are set against the Black Sea coastal town of Zonguldak during the turbulent wartime atmosphere in 1941. Their lives become intertwined as both pursue love while contending with dealing with illness.
Gokhan Tiryaki's magnificent wide-screen visuals and an evocative and rousing original score by Rahman Altin bring this vibrant slice of Turkish history to life. The cast includes popular actors Kivanç Tatlitug and Mert Firat as the poets, Belçim Bilgin (star of Love Likes Coincidences, screened in the first Houston Turkish Film Festival last year) as their love interest, and director Yilmaz Erdoğan (star of Once Upon a Time in Anatolia) as a mentor.
