The 2014 Little Black Dress Designer student fashion design competition will officially begin with a designer casting and first round fashion show.
Student designers from across Texas will submit their best versions of the little black dress from 10 a.m. to noon — the first step in their chance to win $30,000 in scholarships. At 4 p.m., the designs submitted will be narrowed to a group of semi-finalists after being featured in a first round fashion show. Celebrity judges for this round include designers Chloe Dao and David Peck as well as Neiman Marcus' Liz Zaruba.
The event will take place along the corridor between Nordstrom and Macy's. To kick-off the festivities, Macy's will present a headline show on how to accessorize the little black dress. Next, the student designs will be featured in a runway show moderated by KHOU Ch. 11 style contributor Dee Brown. Attendees will also be able to enjoy cosmetic makeovers by Dior, a Glam it Up Photo Booth, music and more.
