More than 30,000 Houstonians will participate in the Heart and Stroke Walk in support of the American Heart Association's fight against heart disease and stroke. The walk will feature family fun and physical fitness to promote walking as a part of a healthy lifestyle while raising funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs for the American Heart Association.

To participate in the annual event, walkers can register online or by calling 713-610-5051. There is no registration fee, but donations are appreciated. Fundraisers who secure a minimum of $100 will receive a free event T-shirt.
