17th Annual Citywide African American Artists Exhibition

eventdetail

The Citywide African American Artists Exhibition offers visual artists in Houston the opportunity to show their work to a broader audience and to art collectors. Artists of the African Diaspora over the age of 18 are invited to submit up to six works for possible inclusion in the exhibition. This year, curator Michael K. Tayler selected the work of 47 artists from a pool of 80 entrants.

To kick off the exhibition and recognize the finalists, the Glassell School of Art will host an opening reception on July 26. On Aug. 23, the top three winners — juried by Danielle Burns, Sally Frater and Alison de Lima Greene — will be announced.
