In celebration of the GLBT community's progress, the yearly HRC Houston Gala is themed "The Heartbeat of Equality," promising a grand, black tie affair in support of a great cause. Featured speakers include Kate Walsh, award winning actress from Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy; Scott Nevins, TV personality and comedian from The Smoking Gun Presents; HRC's director of diversity Cuc Vu; and Mayor Annise Parker, who will receive the John Walzel Political Equality Award.
