The Bayou City Food & Film Festival is a new festival that celebrates the culture, art and science of food from around the world. This eclectic, three-day festival features a selection of food films in an intimate setting, along with chefs, food activists and lively receptions and parties.
Sweet Dreams is a powerful documentary charting Rwanda's rebirth. In 1994 Rwanda suffered a devastating genocide. Close to a million were killed by neighbors, friends and even family. Horror swept the land, and when it was over, those who remained were broken, dead inside. The country has made great strides in economic recovery, but "people are not like roads and buildings" says Kiki Katese, pioneering Rwandan theater director.
The opening night party immediately follows a film screening and talk-back with the filmmakers.
