The Houston Dragon Boat Festival is a colorful affair where 30 teams from around the city engage in a friendly competition for top spot. Teams of 25 (including a steersman, a drummer, 20 paddlers, and three alternates) race 250-meter sprints in traditional Hong Kong-style boats.
With colorful cultural performances, educational booths, delicious cuisine and fun games for kids and adults alike throughout the day, even non-paddlers will enjoy this outdoor fair. The festival runs from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
