The day-long celebration will kick off with the Grand Parade at 10 a.m., which will travel down Friendswood Drive from the corner of FM 518 and Heritage Drive. The parade will feature more than 100 entries from Friendswood and around the State of Texas. The parade will conclude at Stevenson Park where guests will enjoy more than 50 booths, rides, games, food and live entertainment. The activities will begin shortly after the parade through approximately 3:30 p.m.
The Matchmaker Band, a 10-piece show band specializing in the sounds of motown, soul, funk and dance music, will headline the evening entertainment that begins at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Park. The performance will be followed by a fireworks extravaganza, choreographed to patriotic music, at 9:20 p.m.
Public parking will not be available at Centennial Park for the evening program. Spectators must ride the free shuttle service to gain admittance into the park. Shuttle service will be available from Clear Brook High School, 4607 FM 2351, and from Friendswood High School, 702 Greenbriar. Shuttle services will begin running at 6:30 p.m., Last inbound bus from parking locations to Centennial Park departs lots at 8:45p.m.
