10th Annual Houston Jewish Film Festival Women's Night: Wherever You Go and Aya

eventdetail

ERJCC celebrates women in the month of March for these two Israeli films made by and about women. Make it dinner and a movie with four of your friends. Bring your dinner to eat before the film. A bottle of Israeli wine will be provided. RSVP to Amy Rahmani at arahmani@erjcchouston.org or call 713-729-3200 ext. 3299 by March 14 to reserve a table and bottle of wine.

Wherever You Go is the story of Zohara, an Israeli woman cut off from her Orthodox family who decides to attend her sister's wedding and reconnect with her family. En route, she stops for a desperate Bedouin woman attempting to escape from a forced marriage. Though they come from different worlds, both share the same desire: To be themselves.

While waiting for someone at the airport, Aya is mistaken as the assigned driver for Overby, a Dane visiting Israel to judge the Rubenstein Piano Competition. She does not immediately reveal the truth and proceeds to drive Overby to Jerusalem, developing a tension filled rapport with him.
