10th Annual Houston Jewish Film Festival: Brave Miss World

eventdetail

At 18, Linor Abargil was crowned Miss Israel. Six weeks prior to the Miss World contest, Abargil was modeling in Italy when an Israeli travel agent brutally raped her. She called her mother, went to the police and to a hospital in Rome. After winning the Ms. World contest, the story was reported internationally and Abargil became the spokesperson of rape victims worldwide.

In 2008, she began speaking out about her experience to girls and women around the world, not only to help herself heal but to help others who have been victimized by rape. This powerful documentary tells her story.
