Building the community of veterans means creating opportunities for veterans to come together, to connect, to share stories, to feel a part of a whole, and to help one another. This group's founding motto, "We've Been There," comes from founding members who were frustrated at the lack of attention and resources being directed toward Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans in 2009.
While the organization has moved beyond being solely focused on veterans of the post-9/11 era, they believe that the shared experience of military service across all era binds veterans and gives them strength. They focus on building professional networks that allow people to learn, connect, and get hired.
All the support from members and the community at large is greatly appreciated. You can donate here or volunteer to help veterans create a community.
Lone Star Veterans Association hosts events throughout the year, from networking to other social events.
