It is the mission of Catapult to facilitate a lifestyle of health and fitness to physically challenged individuals, so that they may meet their personal goals. Catapult works with individuals in the community and nationally, connecting them with opportunities, training, education, accessibility, and funding, so they may compete at all levels of athletics, from finishing a 5k to competing in the Paralympics. Catapult aims to motivate and unite the community by demonstrating that disabilities are no limit to an individual's capabilities.
Team Catapult meets every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning (except for holidays) at the Memorial Park Tennis Center. They are often looking for guides to help visually impaired athletes run around the track or the loop (don't worry, they will teach you how).
If you have a physical disability and are looking to get into running, cycling, swimming, or triathlons, email them at hello@teamcatapult.org. All skill levels are welcome for both athletes and volunteers, including walkers. You can also email hello@teamcatapult.org to get more information on some of its other fundraisers and team events.
Team Catapult holds several events throughout the year as well as participates in local triathlons and running races. An annual fundraising gala is held the Friday before the Chevron Houston Marathon. The next gala will be held on January 18, 2019.
