The Houston Community ToolBank is a nonprofit tool lending program that serves other nonprofits and community organizations. Since opening its doors in late 2014, the ToolBank has consistently increased its member organizations' capacity to make a difference. The idea is that putting high-quality tools in the hands of thousands of volunteers allows their members to do more for their community — whether that's through home repair, days of service, or charitable events. Over the past three years, the Houston Community ToolBank has equipped more than 95,000 volunteers with tools to complete over 5,900 projects in and around Houston.
Donate your time by volunteering in the warehouse to fill Hurricane Harvey recovery tool orders and help manage inventory. Fridays and Saturdays, 10 am-4 pm are the when demand is highest. For more information about getting involved, including how to donate tools, head here.
The annual Hammers & Ales is a celebatory event featuring giveaways, appetizers, guest appearances, and craft brews, with raised funds going toward the ToolBank's mission and ongoing Harvey recovery efforts.
