The Charity Guild Shop, an extension of Charity Guild of Catholic Women, raises money for the children's charities in the Houston area. They give more than $500,000 per year to charities who apply for grants. The biggest recipient is San Jose Clinic, but they also support the arts, food programs, education, and other medical needs.
The consignment shop at 1203 Lovett Blvd. sells apparel, shoes, purses, furniture, art, household goods, jewelry, and children's clothes, as well as handmade items from talented local seamstresses and crafters.
Membership is by invitation, and you must be a member of the Catholic faith to join. There are membership fees once a woman is invited.
