Urban Harvest is a nonprofit organization with three hardworking programs at its core: community gardens, farmers markets, and gardening and youth education. It inspires and empowers people of diverse backgrounds to grow and share healthy foods, in the process enriching the city we all call home. The organization also cultivates thriving communities through gardening and access to healthy, local food.
Urban Harvest welcomes donations that will help make the farmers market a permanent institution for Houston that is accessible to all; educate the next generation of gardeners; and create thriving communities through a robust garden program that celebrates the diversity of the city.
You can also join in at one of the community gardens or volunteer. Whether as a farmers market assistant or volunteering at a school garden build, they need your help.
Urban Harvest hosts classes that teach how to garden all year.
