The Houston Aphasia Recovery Center (HARC) is the premier resource in Houston for those whose lives are affected by aphasia. HARC is dedicated to generating awareness and support, facilitating research, and fostering wellness and recovery in a life-affirming environment. It offers language-based programs that provide various opportunities for participants to further their language recovery in a supportive environment. By coming to HARC, members gain communication confidence to live successfully with aphasia and to improve their overall quality of life.
Every year, approximately 4,000 Houstonians acquire aphasia. One day they communicate effortlessly and the next they may have limited language skills or none at all. The effect on them and their loved ones is devastating. Head here to volunteer and here to donate.
The annual Let's Talk luncheon benefits HARC's 26 different rotating programs that provide wellness, education, advocacy, and resources for people with aphasia, their caregivers, and the greater Houston medical community.
