One of the most visible and involved community centers in Houston’s African-American community and the Houston community as a whole, S.H.A.P.E. has led the way toward justice, equal opportunity, and institution building. Because of its deep commitment to the community, S.H.A.P.E. has actively sought ways to oppose injustice and to better the community for all people.
Volunteer orientation is every Saturday from 10 am-12 pm, and those interested can call 713-521-0641 for more information. Volunteers are needed for IT and computer services, grant writing, fundraising, office admin, after-school enrichment and summer programs, tutors, and maintenance and building services.
