Comp-U-Dopt provides technology access and education to underserved youth through programs that serve to eliminate limited access to computers, facilitate growth in technical and digital literacy skills, and support the future of youth in Houston communities. During the school year, Comp-U-Dopt travels to schools within 2,800 square miles around Houston to deliver computers and technology education programs.
Volunteer opportunities with Comp-U-Dopt range from working at its warehouse (helping during the week to load the trailer and organize the warehouse) to assisting with on-site programs (run training sessions and hand out comptuers to children and their families) to corporate volunteer projects. For more information and to apply, head here.
Comp-U-Dopt also accepts donations of computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, and myriad other electronic equipment. Machines do not need to be in working order, however they do ask that you keep the hard drive intact. For more information on donating equipment, head here.
Comp-U-Dopt's annual Oktoberfest Celebration at the Comp-U-Dopt Warehouse is a night to remember. Celebrate with great craft beer, German food, and live music all while helping support the Comp-U-Dopt mission.
