Today's Harbor for Children stops the cycle of abuse by giving children a place, family system, and choice. Through this approach, and a 70-year history of fighting for young people, Today's Harbor for Children has the knowledge, experience, and perspective to be a force of change in addressing all facets of abuse and neglect. These three key elements empower children to overcome self-destructive patterns, break cycles of abuse, develop social skills, learn responsibility, and ultimately take back their own life path, becoming our next generation of neighbors, coworkers, friends, and families.
Volunteers are a crucial part of the operations, and whether it's assisting at a fundraising event, coaching a Harbor basketball team, or simply sharing the mission to help more children find their new home, there is an opportunity for everyone.
There are three major events each year — a gala, a fantasy football draft night at NRG Stadium, and a golf tournament — that together contribute to a large portion of the group's annual budget.
