St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Its purpose is clear: Finding cures. Saving children.

Childhood cancer was largely considered incurable when St. Jude was opened in 1962. Now, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate in the U.S. from 20% to more than 80%. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, St. Jude cares for some of the world’s sickest children regardless of their race, ethnicity, beliefs, or ability to pay.

American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC), the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude, hosts numerous events such as galas, golf tournaments, and walks and marathons throughout the year in Dallas, Austin, Houston, and surrounding areas. If you’re interested in getting involved with St. Jude, you can contact its regional fundraising offices to help with fundraising initiatives or seek out volunteer opportunities in your area.

To learn more about the work of St. Jude, follow them on YouTube, Instagram, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

There are many ways to get involved, including:

— The St. Jude Walk, a national 5K event that unites supporters across the country.

— The Houston Marathon, where St. Jude Heroes register to run for the kids of St. Jude and gain access to race-day perks and an online training program.

St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway in Waco and San Antonio, where a $100 ticket enters participants for a chance to win a house built by Evolutionary Homes or other great prizes.
