Arms Wide Adoption Services' mission is to transform the lives of children in need of safe and nurturing adoptive families. They work to expertly guide Greater Houston and South Texas families through the adoption process, connecting each child to the right family and supporting them along the way and beyond.
Services include: adoption and foster care services for no fee; experience placing more than 2,100 children in permanent, loving adoptive homes; specialization in placing older children, sibling groups, minority children, and children with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities or delays, who often wait longer than their peers to be adopted; a 40-year history of personalized, honest adoption-competent programming for children and families.
Arms Wide holds several client appreciation events each year where volunteers are needed, as well as various child and family events at third-party locations where volunteers help supervise children and engage them with fun activities. For more information on event volunteering, head here.
In addition, the foster care resource room, the Angel Room, is always in need of certain in-kind donations in order to ensure foster families have the resources they need when a child or children come into their care. Volunteer efforts to initiate supply drives for the Angel Room have been very successful and ensure Arms Wide's Angel Room has the supplies necessary to help foster families.
Arm Wide's annual Fulfilling Families Luncheon at Houston Country Club supports the children and families Arms Wide Adoption Services serves, and is an uplifting afternoon featuring a delicious lunch and guest speakers. Each year, the luncheon helps ensure Arms Wide Adoption Services can continue to expand its reach in order to help even more children in foster care connect with the loving adoptive families they need and deserve.
