Pup Squad rescues orphaned puppies and nursing litters from the streets, shelters, and other life-threatening situations and matches them with permanent adoptive homes. It also provides support and education to these adopters and the community at large, working with other community rescue efforts to promote spay neuter, adoption, and humane animal care to ultimately reduce the number of animals euthanized in Houston and surrounding areas.

Pup Squad is constantly looking for loving and caring individuals to become long-term volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, or would like more information on volunteering and the volunteer responsibilities involved, please email PupSquadVolunteers@gmail.com.

It is also a foster-based organization, meaning it does not have a main location where the dogs are housed. The puppies and dogs temporarily live in someone's loving home until a forever home can be found for them. If you would like more information and are interested in becoming a foster, head here.

Barkitecture Houston, entering its ninth year this October, celebrates the ingenuity and creativity of the Houston community while raising much-needed funds for Pup Squad Animal Rescue. Local designers, architects, artists, companies, and other groups design and build amazing dog houses that are then donated to Barkitecture Houston, where they are auctioned off to benefit Pup Squad.

Barkitecture weekend starts Friday night with Yappy Hour and continues all day Saturday with a festival focused on dogs with food, music, and lots of fun activities for the entire family. Saturday's activities include the annual Best in Show and Kids Choice contest, dog grooming salon, a kids zone, doggy Halloween costume contest, live music, shopping, and great food.
