Joe V's Smart Shop, the affordable grocery chain from H-E-B, is expanding in the Houston area with two new stores set to open in 2027.
Construction is already underway at both 57,000-square-foot locations. The first, in Humble at 19611 US-59, is expected to open in early 2027. The second will debut later that year near City Park off Highway 288 at 1227 W. Orem Drive.
Both locations will also be the first to offer H-E-B South Flo Pizza, the grocery company's newest grab-and-go concept featuring handcrafted pizzas made fresh in-house daily.
Named after company executive Joe Villareal, Joe V's launched in 2010 to offer lower prices by passing along savings from reduced operating costs.
Highlights include three pounds of bananas for $1, an expansive selection of Latino cheeses, and Joe V's Bundle boxes starting at $20 with seasoned meats.
The bakery features in-store-made tortillas, pastries, bread, and bolillos, with bolillos priced at eight for $1. Each location will employ more than 200 people, adding to the 2,700 employees already working across Joe V's 14 Houston- and Dallas-area stores.
