Sheer energy at Marchesa with fairy tale gowns and slippers for a modern day Cinderella

NEW YORK — While many designers at New York Fashion Week showed relaxed, toned-down looks for next spring, Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig were among a group who would have none of that.

The duo's fairy tale collection, shown at the ornate St. Regis Hotel before a celebrity crowd that included producer Harvey Weinstein (Chapman's husband), Bette Midler and daughter Sophie von Haselberg, Christina Hendricks, Jennifer Hudson and Julianne Hough, included a number of entrance-making gowns with voluminous tiered skirts and long trains in dip-dyed tulle pastel shades.

If you're going to walk into a room, make sure everyone notices.

The duo's theme — “a botanical menagerie of caged birds and cascading florals placed under a captivating midnight sky ” — appears at first in sheer lace-beaded corseted gowns lined in black resembling the outlines of a bird cage but more suited for the boudoir.

Other gowns more suitable to charity balls and red-carpet affairs are adorned with feathers, jeweled crystal birds, laser cut mirrored fragments and gilded threadwork in keeping with the enchanted, ethereal theme of the collection.

Column gowns with strategically placed hand-cut 3-D petals sculpt the body while strapless ball gowns with billowing skirts, each with a train so long that the models had to maneuver around each other during the final runway bow, are the real statement makers. A number of short cocktail dresses and "high-low" gowns, with the front hem higher than the back, showcased the new Marchesa footwear collection that's just as glittery as the gowns. The Italian-made shoes, in laser-cut suede and detailed with glittery beading, will arrive in stores in January.

Alas, there's no glass slipper — yet.

Houston spa is first in Texas to offer award-winning Italian wellness treatment

Now available through August 31, this non-invasive treatment brings Italian wellness innovation exclusively to Trellis Spa at The Houstonian.

This summer, Trellis Spa at The Houstonian is adding a touch of Italian flair to its treatment menu, and it comes with a beauty seal of approval. From July 1 through August 31, spa-goers can book Endospheres Therapy, a non-invasive treatment that's made its way from Italy to Houston, and just in time for pool season.

Trellis is the only luxury spa in Texas offering this treatment, which has already earned a spot onElle's 2025 Best Tools & Treatments Awards as the Best Lymphatic Drainage Treatment for the Body. Beauty editors aren't the only ones paying attention. Endospheres has also been featured in Cosmopolitan and Bella Magazine for its ability to smooth, lift, and contour without any downtime.

"Endospheres Therapy complements our existing offerings by delivering visible results through a therapeutic, non-invasive approach. So, what should spa aficionados expect? Endospheres utilizes a roller device featuring 55 rotating spheres in a honeycomb pattern, which sends rhythmic micro-vibrations throughout the body. The goal is to stimulate circulation, support lymphatic drainage, ease muscle tension, and improve skin texture. The treatment is non-invasive and feels like a gentle massage. Over a series of six to 12 sessions, the treatment will become increasingly focused. Depending on each client's specific needs, the spa therapist can target certain areas, such as the stomach, legs, and arms, for even more dramatic results.

According to Endospheres master trainer Martina Vallescura, Trellis was a natural fit for the Texas debut. "Trellis attracts guests who prioritize both aesthetic results and overall well-being," she says. Vallescura also notes that Endospheres is an excellent option for both aesthetic benefits, such as cellulite reduction and skin firming, as well as therapeutic relief for issues like muscle soreness, lymphedema, and lipedema.

Trellis Spa is offering three ways to try Endospheres, with options that include face-only, body-only, or a combination treatment that covers both. Visible results can sometimes be seen after a single session, but the full effect is typically achieved after a series of 6 to 12 treatments spaced over several weeks. There is no downtime associated with the treatment; however, hydration is crucial, so be sure to drink plenty of water and skip the lotion and snack at least an hour before an appointment.
