The benefits of membership: Houston Ballet Ambassadors spring party sparks great conversation
Members of the Houston Ballet Ambassadors patrons group find that the benefits just keep rolling in as the ballet's development arm works to insure that these generous balletomanes are well cared for. Case in point, the Ambassadors Spring Party, a cocktail buffet evening held in the beautiful, art-filled home of Ann and Mathew Wolf.
Several dozen Houston Ballet supporters filed in for conversation — Leigh Smith and Phoebe Tudor talking contemporary art, C.C. Conner discussing Hermann Park and performances there with Macey and Harry Reasoner and the ballet's artistic director Stanton Welch discussing international dance with Becca Cason Thrash, she having just chaired Houston Ballet's "Dancing With the Houston Stars" fundraiser.
Ballet executive director Jim Nelson remained in the entry hall welcoming the flow of well-heeled guests that included Pat Breen, Terry Wayne Jones, Jo and Jim Furr, Mary Alice and Michael Parmet, Margaret Alkek Williams and Jim Daniel, Joan Lyons, Tripp Carter and Carl Stern.
Among those grazing through the buffet dinner spread by from Elegant Events and Catering by Michael were dancers Linnar Looris, Connor Walsh and Jessica Collado.
