UT ranks as a top party school in the nation.

Partying is pretty much part of the curriculum at the University of Texas at Austin. Longhorns come in with prerequisites in pre-gaming and leave with top honors in tailgating — and perhaps a minor in Austin nightlife.

Now the Longhorn reputation has graduated cum laude. Playboy just named UT as the No. 6 party school in the nation, moving up three slots from last year's No. 9 title.

The iconic magazine pays homage to party staples like South By Southwest and Dirty Sixth, but this year a new neighborhood gets a nod.

"While Sixth Street is still the standby for the young and rowdy, Rainey Street is the go-to for upperclassmen. You'll find UT's finest along a row of historic homes now converted into the city's coolest bars and cocktail lounges," says Playboy, confirming our suspicion that Rainey Street has become a mecca for burnt-orange bros and sorority sisters.

Playboy also reminds readers that toplessness is legal in Austin, perhaps providing residents with a new motto: "Austin: the right to bear arms and the right to bare it all."
