With this recent - and brief - touch of fall weather, we were inspired to check in with H-Town fashion bloggers to learn what the hottest item in their closet is for fall.

Just headed home after romping through Paris during fashion week, Lindley remains faithful to this one fashion staple.

"My fave fall fashion item would definitely have to be leather leggings," she says. "Leather is generally considered sexy or edgy, but can be so chic when balanced with a ladylike heel and blouse."

"I recommend this pair by Alice + Olivia because the price is right on, and the fit is really flattering."

Nina says that she added brights and neons to her typically neutral wardrobe in the spring and now that fall has arrived, she is adding darker, richer shades.

"In the spring, I especially loved bright denim, so these wine-colored skinny jeans are the perfect transition into the rich colors and textures of the season," she says.

"My favorite wine-colored find has been these J Brand coated skinny jeans in a rich burgundy. The glossy, leather-like coating gives a little shine and a touch of edgy glam."

"I paired these with a light linen-silk blend shirt from T by Alexander Wang. The lightweight top will make for excellent layering with scarves, blazers and sweaters."

Veronika says she's mad for polka-dots this fall, loves them for their sense of whimsy.

"Pattern mixing is a fantastic way to re-invent some of the pieces in your closet that aren't getting a lot of love," she says. "I reignited my love for this polka-dot skirt from Forever 21 by pairing it with a striped blouse from J.Crew.  The prints play off of each other and keeping them in the same color family makes the look feel cohesive."

"To dress up the look, I added a chain link necklace with a pop of hot pink from Banana Republic."

Although she moved to Dallas last spring, Merritt's fashion sensibilities work well for both Houston and Big D.

She says, "This fall, my most-coveted (and wearable) piece is my pair of Helmut Lang leather leggings."

And she's happy about the recent cool front. "When it gets a little cooler out, you can wear this  staple to work with a structured blazer, blouse and smoking slippers."

"For an evening out or a relaxed cocktail ensemble, pair your leather leggings with stilettos, a stand-out top and a fur jacket. On the weekend, wear them with an oversized sweater and statement necklace."

Annina is brand ambassador for Houston-based designer David Peck, so it's no surprise that she favors the little number here.

"This fall, navy serves as a savior for a summer-to-fall shift hue," she tells us. "My uniform will consist of an easy throw on frock, like CrOp's 'Lilie' dress, a navy hued jersey dress with a cascading hemline."

"Topped with a motorcycle jacket and a pair of easy wedge booties through New York and Paris fashion weeks or a pin heeled pump for my girlfriend's Malibu wedding, CrOp by David Peck navy hued frock is my season must have!"

She accessories here with Isabel Marant boots.

This young fashionista is crazy for tuxedo trousers.

"I’ve been a huge fan of menswear for women for the past two fall seasons, and 2012 is not the exception. This time I am obsessed with the tuxedo trousers," she says.

"Many designers added tuxedo-style pants to their collection, giving us a variety of options and styles to wear, ranging from wide leg to skinny and even from silk to cotton. They are perfect for work and play."

"And lastly, let’s not forget that if you’re like me - a bit on the short side - the side stripe on the pants can give you the illusion of longer legs!"

Monica wears the Viktor & Rolf pant from Atrium Ready-to-Wear with a Narcisco Rodriguez blouse.

She shares her fashion savvy on her blog Classy & Fabulous Fashion.
