The well being of young girls around the world is a major concern as they are trafficked, married off too young, and denied education and equality. But there is inspiring news as girls are banding together and finding strength in numbers to fight against these threats. There are signs that they are succeeding by improving health, education, equality and the environment. Additionally child marriage has been decreased and domestic violence and trafficking are being slowed.

Author/photographer Paola Gianturco will present slides and stories from her new book, Wonder Girls: Changing Our World for which she and her 11-year-old granddaughter co-author, Alex Sangster, interviewed and photographed 102 girls. The book documents the work of 15 groups of activist girls age 10 to 18 who are tackling the challenges in 13 countries in the Americas, Asia, Africa the Middle East and Oceania.
