Brazos Bookstore and Austin's literary publisher A Strange Object team up for a Houston release party for Our Secret Life in the Movies. In this whip-smart fiction debut, authors Michael McGriff and J.M. Tyree riff on a wide range of films, creating a powerful coming-of-age portrait of life in the 1980s. This is a book that focuses on not only the Cold War and Reaganomics, but also Balde Runner and Dungeons & Dragons.
The event will feature readings from McGriff and Kelly Luce. Guests will enjoy clips from films, movie trivia and the chance to win a Criterion Collection gift certificate.
