Runway Redux
Fashion Woodlands debut of Theresa Roemer collection postponed, but organizers say the show will go on
The sudden death of Woodlands arts patron and community supporter Tony Motto prompted organizers of Fashion Woodlands to postpone the event, scheduled for tonight (Sept. 25). The event was to feature runway shows from David Peck, Chloe Dao, Jonathan Blake, Amir Taghi and Theresa Roemer at Crave Luxury Auto in The Woodlands.
"It will happen. We’ve done all the work and it will be at the same location," Roemer said.
Roemer was set to unveil her Theresa Roemer True and Real clothing line of flattering and easy-to-wear basics at Fashion Woodlands and is still planning on debuting the line before the end of the year. The tight-knit crew of Houston designers are combing over their respective schedule for a rescheduled Fashion Woodlands date.
“It will happen. We’ve done all the work and it will be at the same location,” Roemer said. “We just have to coordinate and set the date.”
In the meantime, Roemer’s line will be available at a series of trunk shows and charity events, starting Oct. 9 at Jose Sanchez, followed by a trunk show Oct. 16 at Donald Pliner and then another at Hotel Granduca Oct. 17-18.
Motto was the director of the Greater Woodlands Public Art Foundation and fostered art in many forms in The Woodlands. The Fashion Woodlands event was to benefit the Greater Woodlands Public Art Foundation.
