What: Cooking Up A Cure
Where: The Revaire
The scoop: The fifth annual event puts the spotlight on food allergies. Each of the hundreds of attendees is assigned a food allergy, and they must then navigate through the array of dishes while avoiding those they are "allergic" to.
By the end of the evening, co-chairs Rebecca and David Luks, Holly and Jose Bayardo, Amy and Jack Behan, and Ellisa and Nick Gole had raised more than $200,000 to benefit Texas Children’s Food Allergy Program. Dr. Carla Davis, chief of Immunology, Allergy and Retrovirology at Texas Children’s, and director of Texas Children's Food Allergy Program, shared news about the research her team is doing to make life better for the approximately 6 million American children with food allergies.
Participating restaurants included Uchi, Brennan's of Houston, Emmaline, Doris Metropolitan, and Weights + Measures.
Who: Kevin and Monica King, Andy and Leisa Dillon, Nick Lewis, Caroline Lewis, Brittany Scheier, and Jobin Varghese.
