No gutter balls for Chester Pitts, Owen Daniels and NFL buddies bowling forcharity
A beefy group of NFL players, a sprinkling of hip hop stars and local notables joined Chester Pitts last week for the second annual Stars and Strikes Celebrity Bowling Challenge benefiting the Chester Pitts Charitable Foundation.
Who ever imagined Houston Texans Owen Daniels or celeb rapper Paul Wall or jeweler Brad Marks joining forces in a bowling alley? Former Houston Texan and Sports Radio 610 personality Pitts certainly did as he recruited them and others to join him at 300 Bowling Houston for the fundraising event sponsored by ZT Wealth.
More than 150 Houston bowlers gathered with the celebrities, each of whom chaired a bowling lane so that all participants got to rub elbows with big name players. They raised close to $45,000 for the foundation that provides scholarships for underprivileged youth to attend summer art and music camps, purchases art supplies for non-profits and sponsors art workshops for youngsters.
Houston Texans cheerleaders welcomed the bowlers that included Houston Texans Duane Brown, Moran Norris and Brice McCain plus Philadelphia Eagle DeMeco Ryans, Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Lopez, rapper Bun B, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Amobi Okoye, former Texan N.D. Kalu and Jason Harrison, ZT Wealth executive VP and financial consultant.
