Chicken and waffles or bust! Good Morning America visits The Breakfast Klub
Regulars at Midtown favorite The Breakfast Klub found something unexpected at the restaurant this morning — a camera crew.
Good Morning America Weekend correspondent Marysol Castro joined Breakfast Klub owner Marcus Davis to show off the Southern specialties — chicken and waffles, catfish and grits — as one of four finalists in GMA's Best Breakfast in America challenge.
The Breakfast Klub received over 250 nominations on the GMA Web site in April. "We had computer stations set up outside so people could write in if they wanted to," Breakfast Klub server Jacquelyn said. "We only found out on Friday that we were a finalist and they would be coming to film, but we just feel so excited and blessed."
The segment filmed today will air on May 15, along with the three other national finalists, and after another round of Internet voting, a winner will be announced on May 16.
CultureMappers, do you think the Breakfast Klub is the best in Houston — and beyond?
