Blue Fish's sexy sushi double teams Houston with two new restaurants
Just when you think Houston can't handle one more sushi place, we get two.
The latest name to take on Houston is The Blue Fish, a mini-chain from Dallas known for its freewheeling vibe — the official name is The Blue Fish Sushi Saké & Martini (no relation to Blue Fish House sushi restaurants on Richmond Ave., in Sugar Land and in Conroe).
The Blue Fish will open its first Houston sushi restaurant at Bayou Place near Verizon Wireless Theater and Samba Grille around the end of January, with a second location on Washington Avenue next to Benjy's planned for late April.
A Blue Fish rep who only identified himself as Fish said that the look would be similar to the "chic, posh" appearance of the four Dallas locations, with lots of blue tones and metal accents for an aesthetic one could describe as "upscale wharf."
"Houston is a very saturated market, but we thought we'd come here and see what we could do with good fish and innovative dishes," Fish says.
