All About The Bootie
The hottest fall fashion trends: You'd better have a good bootie
While the tiresome white-after-Labor-Day discussion continues, we are looking forward to fall and the colors that really matter.
Neiman Marcus style arbiters highlighted the season’s covetable colors, singling out everything from the new neutral to the shoe that works all year long at a recent Trend Event party. There were selfies and cocktails, but when the models hit the runway, attention turned to the key pieces for the season.
Color Cues
Gray, green and a mix of prints are wardrobe standouts this season, bringing versatility and sophistication.
“Gray is really the new neutral. You can do it casually with a T-shirt or dress it up in an evening gown."
“Gray is really the new neutral. You can do it casually with a T-shirt or dress it up in an evening gown,” Stacey Swift, Neiman Marcus public relations manager, says. “And green, every shade of green.
"Ken Downing, (Neiman Marcus creative director) likes to say it’s the color that always inspires envy.”
Global Chic
Global Chic mixes textures, print and color for a bold and beautiful statement. Swift encourages women to try the trend instead of shying away.
“It’s all about color. As long as you have the same colors throughout, it makes it work instead of fighting against each other,” Swift says. Experiment with global chic by layering and Swift guarantees a harmonious look.
Year Round Bootie
It’s hard to imagine buying just one shoe this season, but if you were, the bootie is a step above the rest. Open toe or closed, sling back or chunky heel, the bootie continues to have staying power.
A good bootie is also an especially practical choice for fall in Houston, since local style setters are often at the mercy of the weather.
Grab Bag
Every great shoe deserves a great bag, and the clutch perfectly complements the bootie. From fab fringe to sleek metallic, the clutch rules this season.
