Getting busy in New Orleans
Where's the sex in this city? Houston dissed as a singles spot
Sex and the City it ain't.
According to Travel + Leisure Magazine, Houston ranks a disheartening 18th in the United States for singles.
The magazine asked its readers to participate in its annual "Best Cities" survey, compiling rankings of factors such as boutique hotels, coffee shops, mass transit and attractiveness of locals. According to Travel + Leisure, much of the Best Cities for Singles list also crossed over with the "Wild Weekend" list.
Houston may not have made a strong impression on the travel bible's readers, but Austin did, coming in second on the list due to its "dazzling smart, athletic-looking and eco-conscious locals." Insider tip: According to one of the mag's sources, the best place to meet fellow young singles in Austin is the downtown Whole Foods (if you can find a parking spot).
Maybe your fairytale-esque love story will begin while reaching for the same bulk quinoa scoop.
The most singles-friendly city in the country is apparently New Orleans, with its never-ending supply of live music and coffee bars.
Rounding out the top five are Las Vegas, New York City and Chicago, respectively.
No other Texas cities made the top 20, which has many commenting Dallasites enraged.
Will you be heading to ATX or NOLA for a weekend of frivolity? Or do you find the list to be completely bogus? Let us know in the comments!
