Timing is everything: Famed designer's new watch collection has a wealth of family connections
Tory Burch has officially gone into the watch business. In conjunction with her company's 10th anniversary, the designer has introduced a collection of watches in seven styles — each named after a member of her family and containing distinctive design elements, including the iconic double T-logo.
The watches, assembled in Switzerland in a partnership with Fossil, range in price from $350 to $995. The styles include:
The Tory
Named for Burch, it features a round dial in various colors, including signature orange, on a link bracelet band.
The Reva
Named for Burch's mother (just as the iconic Reva ballet flat is), the watch features a double-T logo dial and leather band in a host of colors.
The Buddy Classic & Signature
Named for Burch's father, the vintage-looking watch has a rectangular dial and comes with single or double leather straps.
The Izzie
A round watchface is inlaid in a bold, clear case with geometric fretwork, which is a recurring motif in Burch's designs. It's named for the designer's stepdaughter.
The Sawyer
Our favorite is this Art Deco-etched watch which is encased in a gold cuff. The idea is based on a cuff that was a precious gift from her grandmother and is named for Burch's son.
The Limited Edition Robinson
To celebrate Burch's 10-year anniversary, she created a gold watch accented with lapis and signed on the back. Only 500 have been produced. Robinson was Burch's maiden name.
