More Megabus for Texas: Houston-Austin route revived, downtown Dallas locationadded
For Houstonians taking Megabus to the Dallas area, there'll be no more suckering friends to brave DFW traffic for a ride to or from the Grand Prairie Megabus stop in the suburbs: Dallas proper will have its own location at the East Transfer Center beginning Nov. 19.
This addition makes travel around the Lone Star State even easier (the stop is just a couple of blocks from two DART rail stops, the Pearl/Arts District Station and the Deep Ellum Station) and more affordable (Megabus fares start as low as $1), especially considering the recent acquisition of Kerrville Bus Company by Coach USA, Megabus' parent company.
Megabus has also re-launched Houston to Austin service, with stops along the way in Brenham, Giddings, Katy, La Grange and Prairie View. Customers can purchase tickets online or snag non-discounted "walkup" tickets from ticket agents at all stops except Houston.
Bayou City travelers can also book trips online to Carthage, Galveston, Humble, La Marque, Livingston, Lufkin, Nacodoches, New Orleans, Norman, Okla., San Antonio, Shreveport and the Arkansas side of Texarkana, with a comfortable ride upon a double-decker, WiFi- and restroom-equipped bus.
