Blue Bird Circle raises $500,000 in salute to Texas Children's Hospital CEO MarkWallace
Top names in H-Town's medical world and social circles turned out at River Oaks Country Club for the annual Blue Bird Circle Gala that honored Texas Children's Hospital CEO Mark Wallace.
The city's oldest philanthropic organization with a 90th anniversary coming up in January, Blue Bird Circle raised more than $500,000 for research into and treatment of pediatric neurological disorders such as autism, epilepsy, Rett Syndrome and other conditions that are treated in the Blue Bird Circle Clinic at Texas Children's.
Wallace was honored by the volunteer organization for his long-standing support of the Blue Bird Circle's work.
Welcoming the 450 guests were gala chairs Meg Murray, Karen Litel and Lilly King and Blue Bird Circle president Gina Saour. Channel 11 news anchor Len Cannon served as emcee of the evening that included dinner and dancing to the sounds of the Charlie Prause Band.
Blue Bird Circle supporters included Shannon Wallace, Helen and Dr. Charles Fraser, Dr. Huda Zoghbi, Mary and Dr. John Craddock, Dr. Mark Kline and Nancy Calles, Mayor Annise Parker, Susan and Bob Boykin, Laura Bellows and Jack Pendergrast, Tiffani Tatum, Estela and David Cockrell and Marguerite and Chris Johnson.
