Hunky polo players, fashionistas in summer frocks and oh, those hats add up to ahot time in Houston
All eyes were on dashing international polo player Ameer Jumabhoy, both on the field and off at Houston Polo Club where he and New 93Q radio personality Kevin Kline co-hosted the "Horses & Hats Polo Benefit" that raised $20,000 for the Snowdrop Foundation.
Jumabhoy was just part of the scene overflowing with eye candy as the sellout crowd of 400 dressed their polo best for the Sunday afternoon fundraiser. The Snowdrop Foundation, founded and chaired by Kline, supports research and treatment at Texas Children's Cancer Center.
A Rice University sophomore, Jumabhoy plays on the La Sarita team, based out of Malaysia. La Sarita won the Bentley Charity Cup with its 6 to 4 win over the Snowdrop Foundation team. Joining Jumbahoy on his team were Joe Chandler, Remy Muller and Hernan Tejera. Playing for the Snowdrop team were John Tasdemir, Paige Flanders, Kristy Outhier and Bryan Middleton.
When not watching the polo play, guests sampled bites from the Landry's restaurant empire including the Rainforest Cafe, McCormick & Schmick and the Downtown Aquarium plus decadent desserts from Brio Tuscan Grille.
Stepping out in their finest polo attire were director of the long term survivor program at Texas Children’s Cancer Center Dr. ZoAnn Dreyer, Trish Kline, Prince Toan Nguyen, Sallymoon and Dr. Alan Benz, Lan Quan, Casey Curry and Dr. Carl Hahn, Paula Mott, Anne Marie Henick, Jamie Benard, Kami and Randy Krause and Judy Lakin.
