A Trailblazers good time: Salute to young professionals with a mission rocks House of Dereon
Even though fall isn't in the air, there was a certain back-to-school fervor at the House of Dereon Media Center when CultureMap and Lexus hosted the launch of the second annual Trailblazers series. Close to 200 young professionals with a bent toward volunteerism joined the rocking party.
You might recall that Trailblazers is our series focusing on the city's numerous YP groups, covering everything from their missions and special projects to their parties.
Popular DJ Bizonee revved up the party action as Lexus provided the hot wheels for driving inspiration.
When not checking out the shiny vehicles, guests could sample the A20/20 experience at Eyebar, observe artist Shelbi Nicole of Up Art Studio at work and mingle with pals and new friends from groups including Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Alzheimer's Association's Blondes vs. Brunettes, Ballet Barre and Pier and Beam.
Fueling the YP fun were pork tacos from Cook & Collins, cookie dough from Jolly Roger, tequila cocktails by Pura Vida and beer from Shiner Bock. My Texas Market provided the party favors.
In the mix were Lindsey Walston and John Keough, Megan and Jared Estes, Carlos Reyes, Tracy Hagemann, Creshema Murray, Illana Plotkin, Sherra Jones, Joshua Lutrell, Cindy Carter, Lisa Anderson, Rebecca Walkup and Megan Thompson.
