Austin Restaurant Invasion
Culty Austin restaurant chain intensifies its Houston takeover with new locale, free food promises
Culty high-end fast food taco lovers can soon rejoice. Austin-based Torchy's Tacos is set to open the doors of its newest location in northwest Houston in only a few weeks.
The taco chain, which boasts a cult-like following among certain foodies, has dropped the suspense and revealed its latest Houston area location in Vintage Marketplace will open on Sept. 18. Located at the southeast corner of Louetta and Cullen, this marks the second Torchy's Tacos location outside the 610 Loop.
The opening of the new Torchy's will offer aficionados the opportunity to get some tacos for free. Complimentary breakfast tacos will be available at the opening of the Vintage Marketplace location from 7 to 10 a.m. on Sept. 18.
The company first expanded to Houston's suburbs in June with the opening of a 3,886-square-foot location in LaCenterra in Cinco Ranch. The chain, which has Torchy's on Shepherd and in Rice Village, also opened a location in the historic Harolds building in the Heights last September. Now, Houston has a fifth Torchy's.
