Garden Oaks keeps getting cooler: Old auto shop being converted into craft beerbar with Washington Ave ties
Even among die-hard Washington Avenue avoiders, Liberty Station gets a pass for its chill vibe, curated assortment of local craft beers, rotating crew of food trucks and general awesomeness.
Now owners Charles Bishop and Rob and Sara Cromie are planning a new concept in a former auto shop on North Shepherd Drive near Pink's Pizza. On Twitter, Cottonwood confirmed it would be the same general concept as Liberty Station, but with a kitchen, more taps and other things they wanted but didn't have room for at the first bar.
We hope the new bar has the same kind of indoor-outdoor flow that marks Liberty Station, but so far the Alamo-shaped building has only seen the addition of a new brick wall filling in the former front window space.
