Music composed in honor of one of the city's greatest philanthropists wins applause at gala
What:River Oaks Chamber Orchestra "ROCO on the ROCCs."
Where: River Oaks Country Club.
The scoop: Following the orchestra's season opening concert at the Church of St. John the Divine, the well-heeled group retired to the country club for a seated dinner and a very special performance. Long-time ROCO supporter Margaret Alkek Williams was honored not only by the guests but also by orchestra members who performed "Margaret's Imagination March," a fanfare commissioned by ROCO and composed by Anthony DiLorenzo in the philanthropist's honor.
The fundraiser was chaired by Ginni and Richard Mithoff.
