The scoop: More than 100 residents and guests gathered for the official launch party of The Center Bar by Bosscat, a private, resident-only bar on the ground level of The James luxury apartments in River Oaks.
The newly minted bar had residents of the eight-story, 344-unit mid-rise buzzing as they enjoyed complimentary wine, beer, and specialty cocktails from bar managers Joe Spartz and Edgar Torres. Guests also were treated to light bites, music by DJ Charlee Brown, and an outdoor photo booth as they mingled with the owners of Bosscat Kitchen & Libations and The James’ property management team.
Bosscat, the whiskey hotspot located across the street from The James, recently took over operations of the bar. As part of a new partnership with Stonelake Capital Partners, Bosscat also now oversees The Loft by Bosscat at The James’ next-door neighbor The Ivy. Both bars are open only to residents of the luxury buildings and previously were operated by in-house management. Bosscat co-owner John Reed, a resident of The Ivy, and his team spent the past several weeks redefining the bars with new names, a new look and new food and drink menus.
