Feast's scary good food charms New York Times fan Frank Bruni on Food Networkshow
When I think of Feast, I think "scrumptious," not "scary" — unless we're talking scary good. But now the restaurant is showing off its spooky side on TV.
Feast, one of Houston's most critically acclaimed restaurants, is making an appearance on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate on Monday night at 7 p.m.
The restaurant was recommended by The New York Times' former food critic Frank Bruni, who will talk about Feast's rabbit liver and kidneys on toast. It was Bruni who gave Feast its first national attention with a rave in 2009, so it's safe to say he's a real fan.
Feast appears on the Halloween-themed "Frightfully Good" episode along with Xi'an Famous Foods in New York's East Village, Kansas City's Extra Virgin and other restaurants serving adventurous specialties like duck tongue tacos and fried brains.
This isn't Feast's first Food Network appearance — the restaurant also filmed a segment for Outrageous Food last year.
Are you happy that Feast is getting more well-deserved exposure, or is it being pigeon-holed as making "scary" food?
