march's most expensive homes
Houston's 10 most expensive homes sold in March, from a River Oaks chateau to a 20-acre Magnolia resort
Just last year, homes in Houston — especially in its hot 'hoods like the Heights and Montrose — were flying off the market in a day, with cash offers over list price.
Fast-forward to March 2023, where the white-hot market has noticeably cooled. Single-family home sales in March fell 18.3 percent year-over-year, according to a report issued by HAR. But compared to pre-pandemic 2019, single-family home sales actually rose 13.0 percent.
Currently, the average price for a Houston him sits at $408,647. Notably in March, sales of homes listed at $1 million and more dropped by 20.4 percent.
But that doesn't mean two-comma properties aren't moving. Here are the 10 priciest homes sold in Houston in March, according to HAR, from a French chateau masterpiece in River Oaks to a 20-acre resort-style estate in Magnolia with its own cave pool.
