What A Man Wants
Sophisticated new shopping site Copious Row caters to the discerning man with refined, stylish products
Often, the most successful entrepreneurs are those who see a space and create a new way to fill it. That’s the motivation behind Copious Row, an online shopping destination for the discerning man.
When faced with nothing but the same ubiquitous and mediocre shopping options, David Chines, the brains behind Copious Row, sprang into action, taking his years of luxury market experience and coupling it with his own desire for a fresh, sophisticated shopping site.
“Everything on the site is really special. I travel the world looking for new, unique items in limited quantities. I don’t just add items to the site to have new products,” Chines said.
“The shopping experience isn’t targeted to men and it was difficult to find interesting men’s items,” Chines said. “Copious Row really came out of need, and so the emphasis is on beautiful things in limited quantities.”
The Copious Row website is as stunning as the products it sells. The design is modern and simple; allowing the accessories, home décor items, gifts and men’s grooming products to shine against the white background. Copious Row is easily navigable and clearly lists the designers behind each and every piece like Tom Dixon and Jane Carr Homme.
Chines honed his luxury skills while working at LVMH in public relations and E-commerce, so when the time came launch Copious Row, he knew just the balance he wanted to strike. The site’s items are refined, a tad whimsical and definitely appealing to those with X and Y chromosomes, although Chines said women appreciate shopping Copious Row too. In fact, one customer who collects cufflinks contacted Chines just to tell him how much she appreciated the well-curated selection of Tateossian cufflinks ranging from $185 to $400.
That’s the just the feedback Chines is only too happy to hear.
“Everything on the site is really special. I travel the world looking for new, unique items in limited quantities. I don’t just add items to the site to have new products,” Chines said. “It’s a slow build up to find what’s right.” Finding artisans in the United States is also a priority and Chines has a well-rounded assortment of products made in America.
Some of the brands that are spot on right now include Troubadour, a breathtaking leather accessories company Chines discovered in Florence, Italy. He gives the Weekender bag high praise for its “versatility, modern design and classic feel.”
Chines knows buying gifts can also be a challenge, so the site offers gifting ideas for the Businessman, the Traveler, the Outdoorsman, the Entertainer and the Man Who Has It All. For those who need additional shopping help, Copious Row offers a concierge service, so whether searching for shaving cream or stationery, shoppers receive an extra personal touch.
And who doesn’t appreciate service like that?
